Giving Back: Race to a Million

greeting cards, Uncategorized

I am so excited to participate as a vendor at Race to a Million –even more excited because this year, Geek Kreativ is a sponsor!

The work of the Greater Cleveland Food bank is something near and dear to my heart. They have an excellent mission. Not only are they continually working toward their goals to alleviate hunger and food insecurity in Northeast Ohio, but they’re making a huge effort to make sure it’s healthy, nutritious foods that are getting in to the hands of those who need it most –especially in food deserts.

Inventory Inspiration: Firefly Poster

firefly-quoteHere starts our first blog series! Welcome to “Inventory Inspiration” where I’ll talk about where my inspiration for different items in the Geek Kreativ Shop comes from.

Our first item is easily the favorite of buyers that frequent the Etsy shop. Inspired by the hugely popular (dare I say, “cult classic”) science fiction series”Firefly” and the following movie “Serenity” from Joss Whedon.

Being Human Booklet

Human Quote Booklet, 4.0Human Quote Booklet, 4.03Human Quote Booklet, 4.04Developed and designed a small booklet of quotes and pictures with a theme of “Being Human.” As far as imagery, we focused on images of hands and put things in black and white to drive an emphasis on the lines and the details of the pictures.  This booklet is used as a sales collateral and a promotional piece for Human Arc. Race to a Million – Charity Run Logo

Logos/Icons

Final 2015 RTAM Logo - hi res

After five years, the managers of Human Arc’s Race to a Million decided they needed a new logo. To keep some continuity and with the theme of fighting hunger, we developed a variety of designs and eventually settled on a running shoe with “racing stripes” styled after cutlery, blue to tie into Human Arc’s logo, and orange to tie to Hunger Action Month.
